The full transcript provides a detailed insight into the recent developments in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, offering a comprehensive understanding of the significance of NATO's purchase of Patriot missiles and a recent prisoner exchange.
Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Beau again.
So today we are going to talk about Ukraine and Russia
and patriots and prisoners
and that never-ending poker game
and what's happening there.
But before we get into that, a quick aside,
if you are the person who sent me this shirt,
please put a link down below in the comments section
to where people can order it
because every time I wear it, I get like half a dozen messages
and have no idea where to send them.
OK, on to the news.
NATO has decided they're going to spend a whole bunch of money,
about $5.5 billion, to purchase 1,000 Patriot missiles.
Now, the Supply and Procurement Agency of NATO is handling this.
NATO only provides lethal aid to NATO members, so these missiles are not for Ukraine.
However, if NATO was to say buy 1,000 Patriot missiles and divide those up among, hypothetically
speaking, four countries who already have Patriot missiles, those countries might take
their older missiles and send them to Ukraine to help bolster the air defense
that is desperately needed right now given Russia's campaign. So that's what's
going on. That is how that is going to play out. The timeline on that, no
details yet, so we'll have to wait and see how long it actually takes to get
missiles to where they need to be. Okay, in other news there was a prisoner exchange and it was a
pretty big one. There were 230 Ukrainians and I want to say 248 Russians that are going home.
The deal was brokered by the UAE and this is a pretty big one. They've done a lot of these,
I want to say close to 50 since the conflict started.
But there's been a hold, I want to say back in August, it just kind of stopped.
But now they appear to be resuming.
On the Ukrainian side, it's probably going to become a big thing because from my understanding,
some of the 230, they were defenders of Snake Island.
If you remember back at the beginning of the conflict, that was a moment that really helped
galvanize the Ukrainian resistance.
So there will probably be a lot of morale building around that, that they have finally
come home.
So those are the behind-the-scenes developments that aren't going to get a lot of coverage,
but maybe should, particularly when it comes to the Patriots.
Those are going to be incredibly important as this drags on.
But a thousand of those missiles go a long way.
Anyway, it's just a thought, y'all have a good day.
