Beau says:
Representative Ken Buck's departure signals discontent with the Republican Party, impacting the GOP majority as Lauren Boebert gears up for a challenging political landscape shift.
Political observers
Insights into the potential ripple effects of Ken Buck's departure on Colorado politics and the wider Republican Party landscape.

Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Beau again.
So today, we are going to talk about
Representative Ken Buck in Colorado
and the House Majority and wrenches,
because some were definitely thrown yesterday,
and just kind of run through what happened with Buck
and some of the other developments
that will happen because of that.
Okay, so if you don't know who Ken Buck is,
he has been up there a while, probably a decade or so,
and he is conservative.
He is very much, not just a little bit conservative,
he is a hardline conservative.
Now, he has taken issue with the direction
that the Republican party is headed.
He's already said that he wasn't going
run for re-election and when he said that he basically said it was because the Republican
Party embraced all of Trump's claims about the 2020 election.
Then yesterday he said that he would be leaving in days.
Days.
He's not finishing out his term.
And he went to town on the Republican Party, saying that they had turned impeachment into
a social media concept rather than a constitutional issue, the Twitter faction.
And when asked about whether or not he could be pushed to stay, Mike Johnson's ability
to talk me into staying here is going to be as successful as his ability of talking me
into unconstitutional impeachments. He is not happy. He is not happy. Okay, so what
does this mean? It means the GOP majority shrinks even more. I think at this point they
have two votes. They have two votes, I think. But there's also another thing. Buck is
from Colorado, specifically the district that Lauren Boebert is trying to win.
You know, she left her old district trying to win the new district.
The special election to fill his seat will be June 25th, which is also the same time
as the Republican primary, where Boebert faces tough opposition.
Now the GOP special election nominee will be picked and there is a, it does appear that
if Boebert wants that spot, she would have to resign her current position, which doesn't
seem like something she'd be willing to do.
Her reporting says that she is asking them to appoint somebody or nominate somebody who
isn't running in the primary.
She's also saying that it might confuse voters to be voting in two different elections for
the same thing, for the same district.
So Ken Buck is leaving the house.
And I would imagine that he knew all of this was going to happen.
He has been around a while.
I also don't think that this is the last time we're going to see him.
I feel like Ken Buck will show up in other places in politics.
Anyway, it's just a thought, y'all have a good day.
