Beau says:
Republican Party's debate boycott offers Democrats a golden chance to win by inviting Libertarians for meaningful dialogues and attracting undecided voters.
Politically Engaged Citizens
The transcript encourages strategic political maneuvering to capitalize on the Republican Party's decision, creating opportunities for long-term impact by engaging with alternative parties.

Well howdy there internet people. It's Beau again.
So today we're going to talk about the Republican decision to remove themselves
from the commission that sponsors the debates.
They voted unanimously to not be involved in the normal way of doing presidential debates in 2024.
And right now everybody's wondering what to do.
You know the Democrats are talking about how they're going to respond to this.
The answer is you don't.
The Republican Party just handed the Democratic Party a golden opportunity to win the 2024 election
and severely damage the Republican Party for years to come.
I used to watch a show.
Started watching it because my wife liked it and then it grew on me.
It's called Gilmore Girls.
The thing that really made the show was the dialogue.
The back and forth between the characters.
Sure they address stuff along the way,
but what made for good TV was the back and forth, the conversation.
It was very witty. Really great writers.
Dialogue and a back and forth is what makes for good TV.
The Republican Party doesn't want to participate in the debates? Fine.
Let them get on Fox News and rant and rave to their base all they want.
Encourage them to do it. It's a great idea.
Nobody actually wants to sit there and listen to somebody talk for hours on end.
If you're going to run a series like that you need to keep the videos like three to twelve minutes.
Beyond that it gets boring.
So the solution here is for the Democratic Party to simply invite the Libertarian Party to the debates.
What do you think is going to get more undecided voters watching?
Republicans ranting and raving about the culture war because they don't have any policy?
Or a back and forth, a dialogue between the Democratic Party and the Libertarian Party?
What are people going to tune in for?
The voters who lean even remotely liberal that tune in,
they will be swayed towards the Democratic Party.
The voters who are conservative will be swayed towards the Libertarian Party.
If the Libertarian Party manages to get three, five percent of the vote, the Republicans can't win.
That's the route.
Republicans don't want to participate in these debates because they don't want to be fact-checked.
They want to be able to lie without somebody telling the audience in real time that they're lying.
They want to be able to manufacture outrage.
They want to be able to stick to the culture war stuff and not talk about policy.
They want to create an echo chamber.
Allow them to.
And then direct the conservative, independent voters to the Libertarian Party.
The party that isn't afraid.
The party that might have policy ideas.
If you can get even a small percentage to start voting Libertarian,
the Republican Party will be damaged for years.
They will lose.
Create good TV.
Create the back and forth.
The witty dialogue.
People will tune in to it.
The sound bites that show up in the evening news won't be of Republicans ranting and raving.
It'll be of whatever the Libertarian response is.
This is a moment that doesn't come very often.
This is a self-inflicted wound for the Republican Party.
All the Democrats have to do is not provide first aid for once.
They did it. Let them deal with the consequences.
Invite the Libertarian Party to the debates.
Debate them.
Create good TV.
You sway independent voters who are conservative leaning away from the Republican Party
and to a better option.
The liberal voters, those who align even remotely with the Democratic Party, will still go that way.
Most people who would entertain the idea of voting for Democrats,
they're not going to be in favor of small government, rugged individualism.
But those who might be swayed to the Republican Party, they certainly would be.
This is a golden opportunity as long as the Democratic Party doesn't waste it.
Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
