Beau says:
Beau questions the Republican Party's inability to break away from Trump, foreseeing future shifts post-midterms and warning against Trump-like behavior causing losses.
Political observers
Insights into the potential long-term consequences of the Republican Party's current relationship with Trump.

Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Beau again.
So today we're going to talk about the Republican Party,
particularly the Republican leadership
and their relationship to Trump,
because something has just,
it's kind of been just bothering me for a while.
When did the Republican Party get so bad at politics?
I'm not talking about policy right now.
I'm not talking about that.
I'm talking about just general political maneuvering.
The leadership of the Republican Party
has to understand by this point
that they have to shake Trump off their neck.
Like, they have to get that.
Sure, he motivates the base, creates great memes,
gets your name out there and all of that stuff,
but the reality, the impact that he has had
is that the Republican Party lost
the White House, the House, and the Senate.
That's not exactly somebody that I believe
has a lot of political capital,
and that was before that thing on the 6th
and everything since then.
He's bad for the Republican Party.
He's damaging to it.
This should be obvious to the Republican leadership.
You know, the people who said stuff like similar to,
if we nominate Trump, we'll get destroyed
and we'll deserve it.
Yeah, and now here you are.
But here's the thing.
All they have to do to just let Trump fade away
is to just let him fade away.
It doesn't require any political maneuvering on their part.
All they have to do is just stop rushing to his defense
every time he finds himself in a new scandal.
But it seems like out of some desire to please daddy
or whatever, they just can't do that.
This should be the easiest break from a politician in history,
but the Republican Party, the leadership,
somehow can't convince the rank and file elected officials
to just stop closing ranks around him.
That's all it would take.
But apparently the Republican leadership is now so weak,
they can't do that.
They don't have the ability to steer their party
in that direction.
That's a really bad sign for them.
Trump is not a winning political brand.
I mean, let's be honest.
He lost to Joe Biden.
He lost to Joe Biden.
And along the way, he lost control of the House
and the Senate.
And now a bunch of political novices
who saw his quick climb are trying to emulate him.
And they're doing so under the banner of the Republican Party,
which means even if they're successful to some degree
at getting into office, when they get there,
they're going to behave like him.
And they will probably have similar results.
They will cause wider losses for the Republican Party.
But apparently the Republican leadership
can't figure this out.
Or they understand it, they just can't figure out
how to maneuver away from him.
And the simple answer is stop defending him
after every scandal.
Without the support of the Republican Party,
he'll go away.
But to be honest, you're kind of tied into him,
at least through the midterms, right?
After that, I think the Republican Party
will probably make a pretty big push to get rid of him.
It's kind of already started the way every senator up there,
with the exception of, I guess, one,
kind of went against him on that whole NATO thing.
They're pretty mad about that.
I would expect that as soon as the midterms are over,
you're going to see a lot of Republicans turn into rhinos.
And just maybe they don't notice when Trump gets in trouble.
They won't be out defending him.
Right now, it's all about keeping that base energized
for the midterms.
But I think it's a tactical error
because I think in the long term,
those that do get elected, they will be of the sort
that will create the same issues Trump did.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
Y'all have a good day.
