Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Beau again. So today we are going to talk about
narratives and Trump and Russia and information consumption and operations.
So there are some clips from Russian media that are going viral in the United States right now.
The general tone of the clips, it's a news broadcast, it basically says, hey, the former
president of the United States had his little clubhouse searched by the FBI. They were looking
for secret information about a new nuclear weapons program. But don't worry, even though the FBI
isn't saying whether or not they found it, obviously those documents have been being
studied in Moscow for quite some time. Yeah, okay, that's a story to toy with U.S. intelligence.
Don't let that become the narrative. Don't let that become something that is being presented
as true in public discussion. Stick to the facts as reported. Okay, the former president
had documents. The FBI said, hey, give them back. For whatever reason, he didn't. The FBI got a
warrant, executed the search, found documents to include, TSSCI documents, and the former
president had defense information collected and improperly stored. Those are the facts as
being as they're reported. Stick with that. If the narrative becomes, oh, we know he gave them
to Russia. What happens if that's not where the investigation actually leads? Then it all seems
very underwhelming when in reality the facts as reported are huge. There's no reason to go beyond
what is being reported. Stick with that. Don't let this bait encourage you to start speculating
beyond the investigation. Everybody needs to stay at pace with the investigation right now.
Don't go beyond that. It can build up expectations that may not be met.
Now, the odds are this is an information operation. It's something we've talked about on the channel
before. I think the last time we discussed it was one about, one that came from Zelensky's
government. And it was absolutely brilliant. I'll find the video and put it down below.
Undoubtedly, because anytime I talk about it, I bring this up, when governments are running
information operations, people like us, normal people, average people, we are collateral.
We hear it and we don't know whether or not to believe it, but it's not aimed at us. This is a
story. These are statements that are designed to toy with U.S. intelligence. That's what it's there
for. Don't let this shape the narrative domestically. One of Putin's far-reaching strategic
goals is to sow division in the United States, to destabilize it. This lines up with that.
The one thing that is very apparent from this is that if at any point in time, Russia was
supportive of Trump and they had some arrangement, oh, it's over. Russia now views Trump as a,
well, a played trump card and it can be discarded. He is apparently more than willing to
be a play card to Russia and it can be discarded. He is apparently more used to them in jail
as a divisive figure than anywhere else. Now, just because I'm saying don't let this become
the narrative, it doesn't mean it's not true. It's totally possible that a Russian officer
was able to get hold of these documents because they were improperly stored or sure, maybe Trump
handed them over. We don't know, but you can't treat that as something that is fact just because
Russian media reported on it. It is incredibly likely that this is an information operation
designed to do exactly what it will do if people start accepting it as fact.
Wait for the information to come out. Wait for the reporting. Wait for the documents.
Stay at pace with the investigation. Don't get out ahead of it.
Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
