Beau says:
The Republican Party faces a critical decision: destroy Trump and his influence or risk losing political ground in 2024.
Political strategists, Republican party members
The full transcript provides a detailed analysis of the potential consequences for the Republican Party if they fail to address Trump's influence promptly.
Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Bo again.
So today we are going to talk about the Republican party running out of road
because they have, they've run out of time to do something or for something to
happen on its own.
And now they have to make a choice.
The midterms are over.
They have to start looking towards 2024 and the conventional wisdom up until
this point has been that, well, Trump will just go away on his own, they don't really
need to do anything about it.
And that's what they've waited for and waited for and waited for.
They can't wait any longer.
They have to plot a course.
And the crossroads that they're at, one direction is, well, destroying Trump and all of Maca.
All of it.
Or they just accept that they're going to fall in line like obedient lackeys again.
Those are their options.
They're out of time to do anything else.
They either attempt to destroy him or they just accept that he runs the Republican Party.
The conventional wisdom has been that they don't really have to worry about it because
he won't win the primary.
Trump himself won't win the Republican primary.
Based on current polling, dynamics being what they are and how they're trending, yeah,
That's probably true.
The thing is, those primaries don't occur in a vacuum.
It's not just the presidential primary.
If Trump is on the ticket, if he is running in the primary, what does that mean for his
base?
They're going to show up.
going to show up in those primary elections and they're going to vote.
They're not just going to vote for president.
They're going to vote for all of the other things.
So even though the Republican Party rank and file voter now sees Trump as toxic, they don't
see all of his people, all of the candidates that will be running under his umbrella.
They don't see them as toxic because they don't know who they are.
So when his base, his very energized base starts campaigning for them, well they'll
win, just like they did in 2022, just like they did in the midterms.
That's how you had all of those bad candidates.
And that was without Trump actually being a part of the election.
In the primary, he'll be running.
His people will show up.
And when they do, even if Trump is defeated in the primary, all of his people are going
to probably win most of those elections.
And then they will be crushed in the general, just like in the midterms.
So the Republican Party can either just accept that they belong to Trump or they have to
start to actively attempt to destroy him politically.
I have seen a few of the more savvy Republicans kind of start to point this out.
The less savvy politicians, they're still trying to do this middle-of-the-road thing,
not have a backbone about anything, and just hope it'll all work out.
It won't.
If they go that route, they will lose the House and the Senate.
They either have to get behind him or they have to destroy him.
When they go after him, they have to get rid of Allamaga as well.
They have to return the Republican Party to a conservative party rather than a far-right,
ultra-nationalist, there's probably another word for this, party.
If they don't, well, it's probably not going to go well in 2024 for them.
This is one of those moments that we'll be defining and they're out of time to make this
decision because all of the campaigns, they're going to start getting heated up right now.
If they wait too long to make their decision, it doesn't matter because all of those MAGA
candidates will be campaigning for the House and for the Senate.
They'll have those far-right, ultra-nationalistic views.
They may win the primary and then they'll lose in the general.
The Republican Party is kind of facing an existential threat.
Lindsey Graham was right.
Lindsey Graham was prophetic in that statement.
He's going to end up destroying you.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
Have a good day.
