Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Beau again.
So today we are going to talk about a Trump case, but not any of the ones you're thinking about.
We're going to talk about one that most people, at least I, had pretty much forgotten about
and go over the consequences of that case.
We'll talk about what the judge said, and there is a...
I don't know if I would call it funny, but there is a unique thing that is occurring.
Okay, so a while back, Trump filed suit against a whole bunch of people, I want to say like 30,
alleging that they were part of some grand conspiracy to kind of rig the 2016 election against him.
And the suit, it was a Trump suit. It didn't get a whole lot of coverage because, I mean, it was what it was.
Eventually it was dismissed.
We are now to the sanction phase.
This is where the judge is granting sanctions against Trump and his lawyer.
Here we are confronted with a lawsuit that should never have been filed,
which was completely frivolous, both factually and legally,
and which was brought in bad faith for an improper purpose.
Judge goes on to describe Trump as a mastermind of strategic abuse of the judicial process
and says that he has repeatedly used the courts to seek revenge on political adversaries.
Regarding the allegations themselves, he described the complaint as a hodgepodge of disconnected,
often immaterial events, followed by an implausible conclusion.
This is a deliberate attempt to harass, to tell a story without regard to facts.
The sanctions imposed by the judge against the lawyer and Trump were almost a million dollars.
And this money will go to the defendants, those people that Trump and team accused.
The largest check to a single person will be to Hillary Clinton in the amount of somewhere around $170,000.
This appears to be the judicial system growing very tired of Trump's antics
and his attempts to use lawsuits as cover and say,
this is true, we filed it in court, knowing that it's not really accurate.
It's worth noting that there very well might be more sanctions coming.
The judge in this case is... it's not the only case the judge has.
So Trump got a piece of legal news that he probably didn't want,
and Hillary Clinton is going to get a check. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
