Beau says:
Sinema's strategic move, Gallego's candidacy, and the urgent call for Democratic Party unity in Arizona's Senate race for 2024.
Democratic Party members in Arizona
Deeper insights into the political landscape and strategies for the upcoming Senate race in Arizona.

Well, howdy there, internet people.
It's Beau again.
So today we are going to talk about Sinema and Gallego
in Arizona and how things are shaping up for 2024
in the Senate race out there.
If you remember, recently Sinema became an independent.
Now, the perception, despite everything
that Sinema put out about her just being an independent
spirit and all of that stuff, the perception
is that it really had to do with cold, hard political math.
She's not really popular among Democrats
and probably couldn't survive a Democratic primary.
So if she ran as an independent, well,
maybe the Democratic Party just doesn't run somebody.
And they're not going to want to split the vote
and risk throwing the election to some far right person.
Gallego has made it pretty clear he's going to run.
So people are going to want to know about him.
He is identified as a progressive Democrat.
He's probably not as progressive as many people
watching this channel would want him to be.
He is far more progressive than Sinema.
But I mean, realistically, that doesn't say much.
I mean, people are debating about whether or not
her or McConnell is more progressive.
So about Gallego, who is he?
Been in the House a while.
Been in the House a while.
He's a Marine combat vet.
He's probably best known for one of two things.
One would be there was treason in this house today on January 6.
If you remember the person who said that, that was him.
The other thing he might be known or remembered for
is that sometimes he talks and tweets as if, I don't know,
he was a Marine combat vet.
He has some colorful language at times.
So that's how it's shaping up.
You have these candidates.
We'll probably do a deeper dive into him later.
But the important part, the thing that the Democratic Party
really has to understand and understand right now
is they have to get on the ball right now.
They have to start pushing right now, this minute.
Her math, her presumed math, I mean,
she says that she did it for ideological reasons or whatever.
The presumed political math that was used there, it's accurate.
It is accurate.
The Democratic Party has to overcome her
and whatever Republican challengers put up.
They have to start putting together the team
and laying the groundwork to do that right now.
Otherwise, you're going to end up
with a far-right Republican in that seat.
The math she used, is assumed to have used, was very cynical.
Math often is.
If the Democratic Party cannot pull it together
and cannot unite behind a candidate
and do it really early and get that momentum built,
they're going to have a problem.
They very well might lose that seat.
Now, this is assuming that Sinema runs for re-election.
She very well may not.
She may decide that she doesn't want to end as a loser.
So if there is a Democratic candidate, she might bail.
Because at that point, it is incredibly unlikely that she wins.
So there is a chance that she just decides not to run.
But the Democratic Party can't take that risk.
They have to start organizing now, today, for 2024.
Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
