Well, howdy there internet people, Ledzebo again.
So today we are going to talk about a pretty historic event.
The former President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, was arraigned in Miami on
a pretty large indictment with pretty serious charges.
He entered a plea of not guilty and that's the actual news.
Okay, so what about his supporters?
Okay, it certainly appears that the NGO,
the Non-Government Organization, assessments were correct.
Most law enforcement assessments
had a whole lot more people showing up.
It is a little troubling that law enforcement
was that far off at the same time,
given January 6th, it would make sense for them to err on the side of caution with something like this,
and be prepared for a whole lot more people, so things don't go sideways.
But the number of supporters who actually felt like showing up was,
I'm certain the former president is disappointed.
Okay, so now let's move on to something that I think might be a useful point to bring up
because the Republican Party continues to say that this is a political matter.
It's a political matter. You now have evidence to say that it's not, that the Justice Department
is not being weaponized, and that's because it is being reported that the former president
left the courthouse without restriction. That's unusual. Again, unusual in favor
in favor of the former president. They extended him every courtesy. Let's be
clear, the judge would be well within bounds to say that the former president
has to remain at his home with an ankle monitor and is barred from using the
internet, is barred from meeting with foreign nationals, has to surrender their
passport and ground his plane. None of that happened. If this was political in
nature, if the goal was to disrupt his quote campaign, those are things that
that are normal, that are well within bounds, that would severely disrupt his
ability to campaign. And none of it happened because it's not a political
witch hunt. It's just one step towards the accountability that anybody else
would face for having that quantity of documents and failing to return them.
He is being extended every possible courtesy to the point that I personally
think that some of those restrictions should definitely be in
place and they may have to be put in place at a later date.
I think that the the judge might have extended a little bit too much courtesy
but then again I'm not a judge. So that decision was made. Trump's campaigning
ability was not hampered. It wasn't hindered. It wasn't disrupted in any way
shape or form when it could have been very easily and be seen as normal. It is
abnormal for somebody facing charges of this severity with the resources that he
has to have no restrictions put on them. Now again, that's early reporting. We may
find out later that there were restrictions put on him quietly, but
right now they're saying there isn't any. It's not political. It's really not. So
what happens from here? A whole bunch of motions, an endless stream of motions
shaping the way the trial will be conducted, assuming it goes to trial
because there are other options and we'll get into that in another video.
Anyway, it's just a thought, y'all have a good day.
