Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Bo again.
So today we are going to talk about New Jersey
and wind and approval because another wind farm
has been approved for construction.
This one is Ocean Wind 1.
It will have 98 turbines sitting offshore
and it is supposed to, upon completion,
provide power for 380,000 homes.
This is in addition to Vineyard Wind and South Fork Wind which also have approval.
One of the interesting things about this particular project is that it's the biggest.
But the thing I really like about it and the way the administration is talking about it
is they're saying it's the biggest to date.
there are more coming. When it comes to clean energy versus dirty energy, this is
a step in the right direction. I know that there are people who have problems
with it, I know there are people saying you know there's something more
efficient, and that's all fine and good. And that's a discussion and a debate to
be had. But right now, this is a step in the right direction and it's a big one.
The more of these that start, the more they produce, the more they clearly
demonstrate to people that clean energy is effective and better than dirty
energy for a whole bunch of reasons, the more investment people are going to be
willing to make in it. And that will speed the transition. It's one of those
things where starting off it's kind of an uphill it's an uphill climb and then
there's a tipping point where the the money is there because people are going
to see the profit in it. This is one of the Biden administration's you know big
keynote things when it comes to the environment and it's one of those things
that will have pretty long lasting effects as long as it keeps going. As long
as there is somebody there to continue to push for a transition and to get that
started. This is something that will help mitigate climate change. Not one
single wind farm, but it's it's a step in the right direction and with a lot
of the a lot of the questions lately about being very doomer it it seems like
it's a good idea to acknowledge the wins and the wins when they come around so
even though it's not everything that everybody wants even though it isn't big
enough, it's moving that way. And it's important to be positive about it to
keep the momentum up. We need people to acknowledge and say, yeah, I get my
energy from my house through this. And we're moving to the point where there's
going to be hundreds of thousands then millions of people saying that. That's
going to help a lot. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
