Well, howdy there internet people, it's Beau again.
So today we are going to talk about Ukraine and NATO
and things other than NATO that are like NATO and a rumor.
At time of filming, there is a rumor
that is circulating within foreign policy circles.
The rumor suggests that there's going to be a deal,
an agreement that gets announced for Ukraine.
It's not coming from NATO, though.
It's going to be an agreement that will help Ukraine obtain intelligence, logistics, training,
supply, all kinds of things.
And it's coming from NATO countries, mostly NATO countries.
looks like the G7, but it's not a NATO deal. So the obvious questions, assuming
this rumor proves to be true and an agreement gets announced, I'm half
expecting the agreement to be at least hinted to prior to this video being
published, but the big questions will be how does this differ from what they're
getting now and how does it differ from NATO membership? Ukraine wants NATO
membership. Okay, so the big difference in the rumored deal and NATO membership
is that NATO countries will not have an obligation to defend Ukraine if it is
attacked because it's already under attack. That's going to be the real big
difference. When it comes to NATO membership, Ukraine pretty much meets, I
mean, almost all of the standard requirements. One of the big ones is
being able to integrate with other NATO countries because of the amount of
equipment and training they have received from NATO countries. Realistically,
Ukraine would probably integrate better with the US or the British military than
a lot of other NATO countries because they've they've gotten a lot of training
in how NATO does things. But the fact that they're currently under attack is a
big stumbling block. So that's the big difference there. How does it differ from
what they're getting now because they're already getting logistics, intelligence,
supply, training, all of that stuff. The rumor says that it is going to be for a
specified period of time. Right now the assistance they're getting is very
piecemeal. It's just being thrown together. You hear it so often now that
the latest aid package doesn't really mean much because you have to go back
and look and see you know what they're actually talking about because there's
so many. It will be for a specified period of time and the rumor suggests
that period of time will be measured in years. So what does it really mean? It
It means they're getting NATO membership without the requirement for NATO to defend
them if they're attacked because they've already been attacked.
It's providing a long-term commitment.
Why does this matter?
Because right now Russia is really hoping that the West gets bored, that resolve in
the West breaks, and the assistance that Ukraine is getting dries up.
They're really hoping for that right now because they don't have much longer that they can
continue to cook the books economically and keep everything afloat. So they
really need the West to get bored, the West to lose its resolve, and they're
putting a lot of effort into encouraging the various populations in NATO
countries to get bored with it. They're using influence operations to do that.
A multi-year agreement tells Russia that that's not going to happen. A long-term
agreement puts Russia on notice that if they want to keep up the aggression, they
want to really try to actually keep this land that they've taken, it's not going
to, it's not going to end, they're not going to be able to wait out the West.
It will probably put a lot of pressure on Russia.
It's a decent plan from the rumor.
We'll have to wait and see what comes of it.
if a deal gets announced and all of the details, but from what is rumored to be, to be the plan,
It's a long-term assistance package and it ruins Russia's hope of the
populations in the West, you know, saying, okay, we're bored with this. We need a
new cause to support. It ruins their hope of an election changing the foreign
policy of the countries because they're committed to it. So we'll have to wait
and see if the rumor is true. You will hear about this 72 hours max before you
start getting hints. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
