Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Bo again.
So today we are going to talk about Trump
and letters he may have received
and where it goes from here
and the potential routes it can take
because there's a lot of debate over that
and just kind of run through the most recent developments
that are pretty major.
Okay, so what has happened?
Trump has indicated that he has received a letter from the Department of Justice that
says he's a target of the investigation.
He's received a target letter.
And according to him, he has like four days if he wants to report to the grand jury and
make his case before them.
That seems unlikely that he would do that if he was given that opportunity, but that's
what he's saying.
caveat, I don't believe anything Trump says. I don't believe it because he said it and I don't
disbelieve it because he said it. His word means absolutely nothing to me. That being said, there
have been a number of sources that have kind of confirmed that he's gotten a letter and the grand
The grand jury that has been looking into the election interference after 2020 is coming
to a close.
So it all tracks.
It all makes sense.
I wouldn't necessarily trust Trump for any details or timeframes, but the overall tone,
yeah, that tracks.
Okay.
So what does that mean?
Means he's on the verge of another indictment.
If what he is saying is true, he's likely to be indicted in the near future.
In near future meaning not long.
Now what is he going to be indicted for?
This is the question that has come in over and over and over again since this news broke.
The main reason it keeps coming in is because a bunch of legal minds have suggested various
charges.
You know, it's going to be a conspiracy to commit sedition.
It's going to be an obstruction thing.
It's going to be insurrection.
There's a lot of debate over what he could be charged with.
Why is there so much debate about this one when you look at the documents case, basically
from day one, I'm like, it's willful retention.
This is what he's going to be hit with.
The reason this is happening is because the alleged conduct of Trump and his circle is
so expansive prosecutors have a lot of different ways they could charge it. To
be clear, as somebody who has a pet peeve, long-time viewers will know this, I hate
the use of the word treason in the United States because it is very
specific. You have to try to commit treason in the US. An ambitious
prosecutor could absolutely take the intent, the alleged intent, of the actions
and the violence that occurred on January 6th and make the case that he
was in fact attempting to levy war. Do I expect that? No. The politicized nature
of that word. Probably not the route a prosecutor would go. It would also be
harder to prove. What's my best guess? Insurrection. Why? Because Trump had a
Freudian slip recently. He meant to say Espionage Act and instead said
Insurrection Act. So my guess is that it's entirely possible that prosecutors
tipped to their hand in private conversations with his attorneys and his
attorneys informed him of that so he had that particular statute, that law, on his
mind and that's why he accidentally typed the wrong term. That's my
best guess. Keep in mind it doesn't have to be one or the other. They could hit
with a whole bunch and there are there's probably half a dozen very serious
charges that the alleged conduct might fall into and that they could make a
case with. So we're gonna have to wait. The two things that I would expect is
number one, I don't think it's going to be a single charge, and number two, I don't
think it's just going to be his name on that indictment. I think there will be
more people charged in various ways, but we will have to wait and see. This
could occur very, very quickly. Recently, the grand jury that was looking into
this Met and they didn't they didn't like call any big witnesses, that's an
indication that things are kind of coming to a close. And now we have this
news coming out, it all tracks. So it appears that we will be awaiting news of
a potential indictment for Trump not just in Georgia but also in DC. Trump
referred to his indictment as a badge of honor. By the time this is all said and
done, he might have quite a rack up there. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a
