The full transcript provides more context on Representative Bowman's humorous yet swiftly resolved entanglement due to confusion and rushing.
Well, howdy there internet people, it's Bo again.
So today we will be talking about
Representative Bowman out of New York
and the entanglements he found himself in
after he allegedly couldn't figure out how to open a door.
So if you remember, back in September, September 30th,
the Republican Party was pushing through
or trying to push through a spending thing.
Over in the Cannon Building,
which is not actually the same building as the Capitol.
It's part of the complex, but not the same building.
Representative Bowman was trying to get there
and came to a set of doors that were normally open
during votes, and they were closed.
And for whatever reason,
he says that he believed that if he had pulled the fire alarm,
the doors would open. So there's that. Now, for Bowman's part, he has indicated that he will be
pleading guilty. I'm responsible for activating a fire alarm. I will be paying the fine issued.
The Attorney General's office there in D.C. has indicated that Bowman is basically just
like, yeah I messed up and that he's going to get the maximum fine. So that's
what's going on there. There was a lot of speculation at the time especially
because there are, the layout of the Capitol complex is confusing. There was a
lot of speculation at the time that he pulled that in an attempt to like stop
the vote that like it's across the they're not even the same building but
that was something that went out as far as speculation also you know outrage
bait it appears to be at least by his statements it appears to be somebody in
a hurry and just completely forgetting how doors and fire alarms work, I guess.
But the speed at which he just came forward and was like, yeah, just give me the fine.
I don't anticipate this legal entanglement being as dramatic as some of the other ones
up on Capitol Hill or involving the former president or anything else.
This almost seems humorous on some level, but it's quickly coming to a close.
My understanding is that he's going to enter the plea sometime within the next ten days.
This shouldn't be a story that drags on.
It shouldn't turn into Fire Alarm Gate or anything like that.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
Y'all have a good day
