Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Beau again.
So today we are going to talk about Mark Meadows
and rumors and wires, how things spread
and the general state of,
let's just say the general disposition
of those in Trump world at the moment.
If you missed it, a rumor circulated just widely that Mark Meadows not only had flipped but that he also wore a wire and
that he did so back when Trump was still president and that he recorded all of those conversations.
I mean, be a lot cooler if he did, but that's actually not, there's no evidence to support
this.
None.
In fact, the person who put the rumor out there the most, I guess, the tweet that got
circulated the most and it spread everywhere, actually put out a statement.
I've spoken with some of my sources again, and now it seems that information was wrong
and incorrect.
In fact, two of them retracted their statements on the matter entirely.
I apologize for putting something out without it not being 100% accurate.
That's on me, and I'll do better next time.
I also apologize to Congressman Meadows and his staff for having to field questions on
the issue.
There seem to be some dark forces behind the scenes trying to get Meadows, and to me that
is very problematic, especially when it seems like it's being sent through the grapevines
by some of our own.
So it just, it's spread everywhere on Twitter.
And it's one of those situations where there's literally no evidence to support this that
anybody can find.
But it's out there now.
And all of the people who believed it, even if they hear the retraction and the, oh, well,
were wrong, they're kind of already trained to know.
The fear and paranoia inside Trump world, it is growing and it is growing to extend
to those people who aren't actually even in Trump world.
They have no contact with any of the people who have been indicted or that are unindicted
co-conspirators or anything like that. It is spreading through the rank and file.
This is a danger of building a base that is ruled by their emotions and ruled by
fear because once that fear is introduced it's going to stay. It doesn't
matter now what happens there are going to be a whole lot of people who believe
about Meadows. The funny part about this is that it can be self-fulfilling. Imagine
being somebody who is facing the Georgia indictment, hypothetically, and you're on
the fence. You don't know if you're gonna take a plea deal or not, you know, there's
a whole bunch of people making that decision right now, and you hear a rumor
that Mark Meadows wore a wire that might encourage you to take a deal because
you might be sitting there thinking, wow what if my voice is on a recording
somewhere? It might encourage that process. Generally speaking, once this
This kind of paranoia starts with authoritarian groups.
It doesn't really stop.
It just grows stronger and stronger and there are more and more allegations that fly back
and forth and I would imagine we can expect to see that.
The short version is don't get your news from Twitter.
But not just is it one of those moments where there's something circulating that probably
needs to be corrected, it's also one of those moments that give us a little bit of an insight
into the mindset of MAGA.
In the short version, they're paranoid.
They're worried.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
Y'all have a good day.
