Well, howdy there, internet people.
Let's bow again.
And today we are going to talk about pink.
We're going to talk about pink.
We're going to talk about pink in politics and books.
And we're going to do this because I got a message.
But this person, the person who sent the message,
did what I sometimes do and didn't include the,
in case you haven't heard, part.
So in case you haven't heard, Pink the singer
is going to be distributing books during the Florida
leg of her tour.
Band books.
Band books.
This has caused a little bit of discussion.
It's not really an uproar at the moment,
but people are talking about it because there is obviously
message being sent there. And here's this message. I'm wondering if you have any
thoughts on what Pink is doing. It feels like the start of a bad trend. I don't
even disagree with what she's doing exactly. I'm a Republican but I listen to
you because I think it's important to get all viewpoints. Yes, I'm a hate
Watcher. First it was Taylor Swift, and now Pink. Do you think it's a good idea
for these teeny boppers to be pushing politics? It almost seems coordinated to
directly challenge Republicans. I also worry about how the young ladies who
listen to their music might be influenced by them and absorb ideas, and
how that might affect their ability to find a good man later. I just find the
whole thing with them engaging in politics all of a sudden to be suspect.
It seems odd. They became woke and that's in quotation marks and then in
parentheses it says I hate that term but don't know what else to call it. All of a
sudden. Yeah there's a lot in that. Let's start with this. Pink is not a
a teeny-bopper. Pink's older than I am. She's just aged a whole lot better. Then when you
get to the part about you worry about how the young ladies who listen to their music
might be influenced by them and absorbed by ideas and how that might affect their ability
to find a good man later. I'm going to suggest that Pink does not want the
people who listen to her music, the young ladies who listen to her music, to
be stupid girls. I don't think that she wants them to think, hey maybe if I act
like that that guy will call me back. I feel like she wants to see outcasts and
girls with ambition. Yeah these are lyrics if you don't know. She has a whole
song about how this is not her audience. That this is not something she sees as
good. And then when it gets to the becoming woke all of a sudden, and
engaging in politics all of a sudden, Pink is somebody who actually has a
whole lot of political content. It has for a really long time. I'll go ahead and
say the line, Pink didn't become woke, she was she was kind of always woke. She has
a song asking the President how he can sleep at night and commenting on what
kind of father would want to take his own daughter's rights away. And there's
There's, it's not all, you know, just a fun house of music.
There's a whole lot of political commentary in a bunch of her songs.
Not actually teeny bopper music even, really.
But there's one thing that I just can't, I can't let go.
I mean, obviously, I have issues with this and trying to create a scandal over distributing
books.
But this part here, it almost seems coordinated to directly challenge Republicans by encouraging
voting and reading.
That's what they're doing.
with Taylor Swift did she encourage people to register to vote pink is encouraging
reading if that is a direct challenge to the Republican Party I have to ask why
you're a Republican the responses that have that have come out to counter the
influence of people who are simultaneously being like dismissed as
irrelevant teeny-boppers, they don't have any sway, and treated as if it's a huge
threat. It's just amazing to me and it's there's a lot of self-reporting going
on. If you believe encouraging voting and reading is a direct challenge to the
Republican Party, I think that party needs to do some soul-searching. So, it's, it
might be time for the Republican Party to give up on the culture wars. One,
clearly they're losing. And two, it has warped the Republican Party to the point
where being in favor of voting and reading is a direct challenge to the
Republican Party principles, I guess. I mean I think that's that's commentary in
of itself. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
