Updates on foreign policy negotiations include ongoing talks for a ceasefire, pressure on Israel, and steps towards peace with the Palestinian Authority.
Diplomatic observers
Details on the potential outcomes and impacts of the ongoing negotiations in the region.

Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Beau again.
So today we are going to talk about a little bit
of a situation update on what's going on over there.
I guess it was about two days ago,
put out two videos that detailed different aspects
of what was going on on the foreign policy scene.
And there has definitely been some movement
on those two topics and how things are going.
So we will talk about the willingness
to come back to the table, and we
will talk about how the US is proceeding with its plans
for afterward.
OK, so the one thing I would like to point out,
just for the sake of my own sanity,
I received more hate mail from those two videos than anything I have in the last six months
or so.
So those negotiations that were rumored and all of that stuff, and everybody sent me messages
saying that's not going to happen, yeah, they've been underway for a day.
They're back.
People has now publicly stated that they are willing to engage in another pause to try
to get captives back.
That has occurred, and the discussions for that are underway.
At the same time, in the United Nations, there is a negotiation taking place on a call for
a ceasefire from there.
The negotiation is basically trying to get the U.S. to either abstain or not veto it,
and they're making progress with the phrasing and what it calls for and all of this stuff.
The fact that they're making progress on that front might have a little bit to do with Israel's
willingness to restart this.
Again, there are a bunch of different directions
that pressure is coming from when it comes to Israel.
And all of the pressure is pushing them
towards a pause, eventually a ceasefire,
and then a durable peace.
OK, so that's occurring.
The negotiations at the UN, they're
going decently well in favor of getting
the U.S. to not veto it or to abstain, which, I mean, it's the same thing in effect.
The vote has been delayed because they're still working out some of the finer details.
Israel coming out and publicly saying, okay, we're ready to talk again, that takes a little
bit of pressure off of the UN, but not much, because until the talks that Israel is engaged
in on their own, until those actually bear some kind of fruit, it continues.
So the UN got some breathing room, but not a lot.
So that covers where Israel is at as far as moving towards a pause, a ceasefire, a
durable peace. As far as the US and its plan, part of it you got to get the
fighting to stop and hope that the Palestinian forces weren't force
generated by this to a degree that stops the Palestinian Authority from being
able to assert governance over Gaza. Step one. Step two was, well you gotta find
some way to kind of get people to accept the Palestinian Authority because the
current leader has a whole lot of perverance support but it's from a small
group of people not a wide base like it's going to be necessary. So the
current leader of the Palestinian Authority has said that they are willing
to make some reforms and bring in some new blood, make the changes necessary to
actually make that work. So there's that. There are also calls that are
very open asking the current leader to just totally step down. My guess is it's
going to be more of a thing where he remains in power, but it's a figurehead.
type thing. And that probably two different people, maybe one from Gaza, one
from West Bank, come up and become more prominent in the actual day-to-day
running and administration. And then as far as the international force to stand
between the two sides afterward? Yeah, I haven't heard any news about that whatsoever. Nothing
good, nothing bad. Just total information vacuum on that one. But that's probably a
good news. That should probably go under good news because if it was outright rejection,
we'd hear that. So the lack of news in this case may mean they're trying to work out the
details with different countries. So that's what's going on. My guess is we
will hear a little bit more from the UN tomorrow, maybe even get a vote. At this
point, right now, this minute, it looks like the US may allow that vote to pass
without a veto. That could change. There could be something in the wording
that alters that position, but so far things are moving in that direction. One
of the big things was like changing an end to the fighting to a suspension in
hostilities. It's diplomatic stuff like that that's holding it up. We'll see
how it plays out I don't I don't really have a guess on that yet I know how
it's going but when it comes to stuff like that when it comes to wording you
never know what one of the negotiators is just gonna stick on and refuse to to
budge on so we'll just have to wait and see on that but Israel is once again
open to a pause. And as far as those three steps that were needed for the US
plan to work, the Palestinian Authority seems to be willing to do their part. So
that part seems not done, but underway. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a
Good day.
