Beau says:
The Biden administration averted a potential conflict by intervening to prevent Israel from engaging in a preemptive strike against Hezbollah, which could have sparked a wider regional conflict.
Global citizens
Details on the specific consequences of a wider regional conflict and the potential impacts on surrounding countries.

Well, howdy there, internet people.
Let's bow again.
So today we are going to talk about something that didn't happen and how we
should all be really glad it didn't happen.
It's worth noting, you know, early on when all of this started, we were
talking about the, the moves the Biden administration was making to try to
stop this from spiraling, to try to stop it from turning into a wider regional
conflict. And I said that when this administration was over and everybody
started cashing in and writing their memoirs and their books and all of that
stuff, that there were going to be a lot of surprises. There were going to be a
lot of things that the American public didn't know about. Looks like we don't
have to wait until the end of the administration.
So according to reporting, at 6.30 in the morning on October 11th, the White House became
aware that Israel planned on engaging in a preemptive strike against Hezbollah.
For those that don't know, that's not in Gaza.
That's up north.
That's up north.
intelligence reportedly had information that led them to believe that Hezbollah
was about to enter Israel and engage in a ground operation. Given what just
happened, Israel was not inclined to allow that to occur. Biden, after
hearing this, met with his advisors, his top foreign policy people, his top
intelligence people, national security people. U.S. intelligence disagreed and said that they
don't believe that's going to occur, that the information that the Israelis had was unreliable.
Biden got on the phone and other officials did too and that they talked to their counterparts.
Biden talked to Netanyahu and apparently convinced him to not engage in this strike.
There are a couple of things to note about this.
The first is that had this occurred, it absolutely would have triggered a wider
regional conflict. How wide? We don't know, but there's a big difference between the
two groups. Hezbollah has a lot of allies, like real allies. At that time with tensions
the way they were on the 11th, it absolutely would have spiraled. The
The Israeli forces and Hezbollah, they go back and forth.
There are clashes all the time, and sometimes they can get pretty intense.
But a preemptive strike by Israel right after this occurred, it wasn't going to be small,
and it absolutely would have sparked.
It would have sparked a situation where what you are seeing in Gaza, you would be seeing
in other places, maybe not to the same scale, but this would be much, much wider.
It is important to note that the other thing that I think it is incredibly important to
note is that Israel is of course denying this whole bit of the reporting, but it
would make sense for them to. It would make sense for them to. And then the last
thing that I think needs to be noted is that according to the reporting, the
planes were in the air. We're going to find out when this is all over, that we
came way closer than anybody realizes to this being a much wider conflict. Anyway,
It's just a thought, y'all have a good day.
