Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Beau again.
So today, we are going to talk about representative
Lauren Boebert of Colorado and her running.
I mean, I think we all knew she was going to run.
I don't think many of us knew she was going to run away
from her district, which is what's happening.
Ready, set, nope.
Okay, so Lauren Boebert has decided she will not be running in the third district, which
is the district that she's been in.
Instead, she's going to run in the fourth district.
The obvious question, why?
Why would she make this change?
The obvious answer is she was going to lose in the third district, almost certainly.
time, she won by 546 votes, something like that, and she has had major issues since then.
Her democratic opponent in the third district just massively outraised her when it came
to money.
It was not looking good.
It is important to understand that the third district leans nine points toward the GOP.
Lauren Boebert was not safe in a district that leans her way by nine points.
So instead, she is going to run in the fourth district, which leans 27 points towards the
GOP.
So theoretically, she'll be a little bit safer there.
I have questions about that.
I don't know that that's necessarily true.
It depends on a whole lot of other factors as far as what the Democratic Party decides
to do in response and how everything plays out, whether there's independence that decide
to show up.
still questions in my mind. I would suggest that having to leave your
district in this way is a bad sign, not just for Boebert, but for that entire
faction of the Republican Party. And remember Boebert has actually been
trying to make a branding change and trying to recast herself as somebody who
actually cares about policy that apparently has not been successful it
does seem as though people are more focused on the the more high-profile
personal behavior of the representative, but this speaks a lot to the ability of
those who are deeply entrenched with MAGA and to their ability to actually
recast themselves as the steam starts to kind of wind down. We'll probably see
other things similar to this maybe not quite as dramatic but we'll see people
change not necessarily the district they're running for but maybe the office
or maybe they decide that they want to spend a little bit more time with their
family type of thing as the Trump spell starts to wear off on the nation so just
That's a little bit of interesting late breaking news.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
Y'all have a good day.
