Beau says:
Beau analyzes the recent operation in Russia, cautioning against premature theories and urging careful information consumption while waiting for confirmed updates.

The emotional impact and potential consequences of the operation in Russia.

Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Beau again.
So today we are going to talk about Russia.
We're gonna go over the information that we have
and just kind of run through everything.
Remember, when you are talking about situations like this,
they are dynamic, the information changes as time goes on.
More information comes out, things become more clear.
There will certainly be downstream effects from this on the foreign policy
scene. What those will be, there's no way of knowing yet. As more information comes
out and we see Putin respond, there will be a clearer picture.
picture. Okay, so what happened? There was an operation conducted against civilians at
a concert venue. There are numbers as far as the number of lost. It is early, and as
As we've talked about before, when you're talking about a situation like this, those
first numbers, they're rarely accurate.
This is especially true if the number that the media has ends in zero or five.
In this case, the number lost ends in zero, the number of injured ends in five.
They're estimates.
So I wouldn't put too much stock in those numbers yet.
I have looked at some of the footage.
It will not be a small number.
Okay.
So it appears that IS, one of their branches, has claimed responsibility for it.
Another wrinkle in this is that according to the reporting, the U.S. had an information
stream, they had chatter about people looking at targeting large gatherings.
That information was shared with the Russian government under a duty to warn principle.
The same information, well I don't know if it's the same, but the idea of avoiding large
gatherings was also posted on the U.S. embassy website in Russia.
So Putin reportedly blew it off, kind of just blew off the information.
It's worth noting that if the information that was available on the embassy website
was kind of all they had or all they could share, it wouldn't have been enough to intervene.
It wouldn't have been enough to be proactive on it.
Maybe they shared more, but we don't know that.
So that's the information at time of filming.
Again, it is going to change.
It's going to change because it's a dynamic situation.
There are things that are unknown.
That information vacuum often gets
filled with wild theories.
I would give it a day or two and see what actually comes out,
what information can be confirmed,
and the various responses.
I wouldn't buy in to any of the theories
that have already started to form yet,
because there's already some,
and there are going to be more.
It happens every time.
So be a careful consumer of information right now.
There is not much more available other than that, so we'll continue to follow it as more
information becomes concrete, we'll let you know.
Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
